Mercedes Settles Wireless Communications Patent Suit

Law360, Los Angeles (May 15, 2014, 6:22 PM EDT) -- Mercedes-Benz USA LLC has agreed to settle a patent infringement action brought by Norman IP Holdings LLC over five wireless communications patents directed to the internal operations of microprocessors or chipsets, according to documents filed Wednesday in Texas federal court.

Norman originally filed its suit against Lexmark International Inc. and Brother International Corp. in 2011, after which the plaintiff added 22 defendants, including Mercedes, the following year. Mercedes and Norman filed Wednesday's joint motion for dismissal with prejudice of all claims against Mercedes in the suit just two weeks after the two parties asked the court to stay the May deadlines...
