Over Protests, Jones Day Named As Interep Counsel

Law360, New York (April 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has approved the interim retention of Jones Day as counsel for bankrupt marketing company Interep National Radio Sales Inc., despite claims of disqualifying conflicts of interest by the debtor's chairman and the U.S. trustee overseeing the Chapter 11 case.

The order was issued after a sometimes heated debate in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York on Tuesday, in which Judge Robert Drain accused the chairman's attorney of making “outlandish” claims to the court.
