Apache Can Shun Anti-Bias Proposal: Judge

Law360, New York (April 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- New York City's comptroller and employee pension funds cannot force oil company Apache Corp., in which they own stock, to consider a resolution not to discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity, a judge ruled Tuesday.

Apache filed the lawsuit earlier this month in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, asking for a speedy decision as to whether it could block discussion of the resolution at the May 8 shareholder meeting.
