Tyson False Advertising Suit Sparks Class Action

Law360, New York (April 27, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Five people who bought chicken from Tyson Foods Inc. have filed a purported class action accusing the company of increasing sales and prices by falsely claiming that its chickens were raised without antibiotics.

The complaint, filed Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, comes just days after a federal judge overseeing another Tyson suit issued a preliminary injunction against the advertising campaign that two competitors have claimed is deceptive.
