Judge OKs Lawsuit Vs. Toys "R" Us Licensing Unit

Law360 (December 8, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- Judge Michael Caldwell of the 19th Judicial District Court of Louisiana cleared the way for the state revenue department to sue the subsidiary created by Toys "R" Us to hold its trademarks.

The Louisiana Department of Revenue claims the unit, Geoffrey Inc., owed Louisiana more than $800,000 when the lawsuit was filed last year--an amount that the state claims has grown to $1.2 million with interest.
