Google, Viacom: Full Steam Ahead On YouTube Suit

Law360, New York (May 7, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Those expecting a settlement in Viacom Inc.'s $1 billion copyright infringement suit against Google Inc.'s YouTube should stop holding their breath, officials for both companies said this week.

Asked at a technology conference in Seoul, South Korea, if Google is considering settling the suit, David Eun, the company's vice president in charge of content partnerships, was unequivocal: “Nope.”

“We're going all the way to the Supreme Court,” he told reporters at a press conference. “We're very clear about it.”
