Plaintiff Fights Aetna Deal On Anorexia Benefits

Law360, New York (June 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Aetna Inc.'s proposal to provide health care coverage for eating disorders as part of a settlement has been hailed by a lawyer for the class plaintiffs as a “landmark” but has been termed a “sham” by counsel for a separate plaintiff in the purported class action the deal is meant to settle.

Attorneys for plaintiff Melissa Jurist filed a brief on Monday asking the U.S. District Court of New Jersey to reject the proposed settlement, denouncing it as “woefully inadequate” to compensate all the possible plaintiffs....
