DOJ Targets Honeywell Over Zylon Bulletproof Vests

Law360, New York (June 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Honeywell International Inc. has become the latest company to be hit with a U.S. Department of Justice civil action related to allegedly defective bulletproof vests made with the fiber Zylon.

The DOJ Civil Division announced Thursday that it had sued Morristown, N.J.-based Honeywell for marketing Zylon Shields that it knew to be faulty for use in bulletproof vests, in violation of the False Claims Act.
