Law360, New York (June 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two New York law firms and their partners have agreed to a $600,000 settlement in connection with an investigation into whether attorneys are bilking state health and pension funds by being improperly placed on payrolls at school districts around the state, the attorney general announced Wednesday.
The deal calls for Albany law firm Girvin & Ferlazzo PC to pay the state $500,000 and for the Binghamton law firm Hogan Sarzynski Lynch Surowka & DeWind LLP to pay $100,000.
