Forgent Cuts Xerox Loose From Lawsuit

Law360 (April 3, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Forgent Networks Inc., together with its wholly owned subsidiary Compression Labs, Inc., has reached a settlement deal with Xerox Corporation in a lawsuit regarding its controversial digital image technology.

Forgent currently has pending litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California against an estimated 30 other companies for infringement of its ‘672 patent involving digital image compression technology—more commonly known as the "JPEG" technology.
