ConAgra Discovery Dispute Heats Up With Sanctions Threat

Law360, New York (December 10, 2014, 3:05 PM EST) -- ConAgra Foods Inc. and a consumer class suing it over the "all-natural" labeling of its genetically modified organism-containing Wesson-brand oils butted heads over discovery in a joint brief filed Tuesday in California federal court in which the plaintiffs said they may pursue a sanctions bid against McGuireWoods LLP.

Attorneys for the tentatively certified class said that ConAgra's counsel produced information at the end of October that revealed a company policy on the use of the term "natural" in marketing that allegedly proves the agricultural giant has withheld similar information sought by plaintiffs over the past two years.
