Judge Approves Settlement In Eating Disorder Case

Law360, New York (June 26, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a case that could have broad implications for eating disorder patients, a federal judge in New Jersey has tentatively signed off on a class action settlement that would require Aetna Inc. to provide more coverage for those struggling with the disorders.

On Tuesday, Judge Faith Hochberg of the U.S. District Court of the District of New Jersey preliminarily approved the settlement, agreeing with attorneys that pressing for a better deal or a broader class with litigation might prove risky to the current plaintiffs.
