Accenture Slapped With ERISA Class Action

Law360, New York (July 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A former employee has filed an Employee Retirement Income Security Act class action against global management consulting company Accenture LLP alleging that plaintiffs have been unlawfully deprived of benefits under the company's retirement plan.

Omar Hakim filed the suit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, suing on behalf of all individuals who accrued benefits under the plan both prior to and after July 1, 1996.

Accenture United States Pension Plan is a co-defendant in the lawsuit.
