1st Circuit Rejects Lessee Class In Automaker MDL

Law360, New York (July 2, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- An appeals court has denied a bid by a group of automobile lessees to reinstate class action claims that automakers conspired to keep cheaper Canadian cars out of the U.S. marketplace.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit shot down the leaseholders' class claims on Monday, upholding a Maine district court's decision to toss them out of the larger multidistrict litigation.
