Ticketmaster Buyer Class Seeks OK For $397M Discount Deal

By Brandon Lowrey (January 13, 2015, 9:54 PM EST) -- Attorneys for some 57 million Ticketmaster customers urged a California judge to approve a class settlement worth up to $397 million in discounts over claims Ticketmaster charged excessive order processing and delivery fees, fighting objectors' contentions that the deal's value is exaggerated.

During a hearing in Los Angeles, Judge Kenneth R. Freeman held off ruling on the settlement, which could end more than a decade of litigation and free the Live Nation Entertainment Inc. subsidiary of hundreds of millions of dollars in potential liability over allegations it deceived consumers about processing fees and delivery charges going back to October 1999....
