Italy Investigates IPhone Price-Fixing: Report

Law360, New York (July 11, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Italy's antitrust authority is reportedly investigating whether Telecom Italia and Vodafone Group Plc have engaged in price-fixing in their exclusive marketing of the third-generation iPhone there.

Autorita Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato has opened a preliminary investigation into whether TIM and Vodafone have abused a dominant market position in their pricing of the iPhone, according to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera.

The AGCM could not be immediately reached for comment Friday.
