Law360, New York (July 16, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Only a month after FCC Chairman Kevin J. Martin of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission announced his support for the proposed merger of Sirius Satellite Radio Inc. and XM Satellite Radio, a prominent congressman has upped the ante, calling for additional restrictions on the deal and asking Martin to reject it in its present form.
Rep. Edward J. Markey (D-Mass.), chairman of the House of Representatives Subcommittee on Telecommunications and the Internet, sent Martin a letter Tuesday recommending several added restrictions.
