Hexion Faces Huntsman Shareholder Suit Over Merger

Law360, New York (July 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Huntsman Corp. shareholder has filed a proposed class action alleging that Hexion Specialty Chemicals and its executives hid the company's efforts to stop a merger with Huntsman, causing the company's stock price to become artificially inflated.

Sandra Lifschitz filed the lawsuit Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, claiming that Hexion, which is owned by investment firm Apollo Management LP, made several positive statements about the proposed merger when it was actually taking steps to abort the deal....
