Ford Sued Over Faulty Transmissions In Fiestas, Focuses

Law360, New York (March 24, 2015, 2:57 PM EDT) -- Ford Motor Co. knowingly sold hundreds of thousands of Fiestas and Focuses in California that pose a safety risk because their faulty transmissions slip, jerk and jolt when the vehicles shift gears, according to a proposed class action removed to California federal court Monday.

Plaintiffs Kevin and Andrea Klipfel claim Ford knew about the defect in its PowerShift transmissions but concealed it from consumers, continuing to sell the part for $1,095 a pop as a fuel-efficient upgrade to the baseline automatic transmission in certain Ford models.
