Judge Frees Dabit, Ending Merrill Class Action

Law360 (July 29, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In the class action against Merrill Lynch & Co. that accused the bank of falsifying research reports and led the U.S. Supreme Court to close a gap in class action securities litigation, a federal judge has granted the lead plaintiff's request for voluntary dismissal without prejudice, effectively terminating the long-running suit.
