Sanofi Suit Over Plavix Expands With New Filings

Law360, New York (May 9, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The antitrust battle against drug makers Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. and Sanofi-Aventis has expanded once again after a pension fund and a health fund accused the companies of illegally blocking a cheaper version of the blood thinner Plavix.

The lawsuit comes on the heels of a slew of antitrust complaints against the companies, which jointly market Plavix, and Apotex Corp., the Canadian generic drug maker that agreed to halt production of a generic version of the drug.
