Apple Settles Patent Dispute Over IChat Feature

Law360 (August 5, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Apple Inc. has struck a deal with a patent-holding company that puts to rest an infringement dispute over the software giant’s Leopard operating system with iChat.

The parties agreed to resolve their claims against one another in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California just days after Digital Background Corp.’s case was transferred from an Illinois district court.

Magistrate Judge Richard Seeborg granted the dismissal of the suit on Tuesday, and said the parties will cover their own attorneys’ fees and costs....
