IPhone 3G Doesn't Deliver On Speed Claim: Suit

Law360, New York (August 21, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Apple Inc. is falsely claiming that its new iPhone 3G can access the Internet twice as fast as previous iPhones, an Apple customer has alleged in a new lawsuit.

Jessica Alena Smith of Birmingham, Ala., filed the proposed class action Tuesday in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. According to the suit, Smith bought an iPhone 3G earlier this summer, but noticed that the Internet connection, e-mail, text messages and other online features of the phone were “slower than expected and advertised.”...
