Hearst, Time Sue Web Site For Uploading Magazines

Law360, New York (August 25, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Time Inc., Hearst Corp. and more than a dozen other major U.S. magazine publishers have filed a copyright infringement suit over a new Web site that lets users upload and share entire copies of the companies' print publications.

The suit, filed Aug. 19 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, targets the owners and Web hosts for Mygazines.com, a site launched in July by Salveo Ltd., a company located in the Caribbean island of Anguilla.
