$45M Web IP Verdict Against Limelight Reinstated By Fed. Circ.
By Erin Coe (August 13, 2015, 1:36 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit ruled en banc on Thursday that Limelight Networks Inc. infringed Akamai Technologies Inc.'s Web content delivery patent, reinstating a $45.5 million jury verdict against Limelight.
In a case that was on remand from the U.S. Supreme Court, the 10-member panel concluded that substantial evidence supported the jury's verdict that all steps of the claimed methods of the patent for delivering content over the Internet were performed by or attributable to Limelight and made the company liable for direct infringement.
