Vendors Allegedly Bilked NASA With Fraudulent Claims

By Bonnie Eslinger (September 2, 2015, 8:48 PM EDT) -- The United States cracked down on two NASA vendors who received more than a billion dollars in federal contracts, alleging in a suit filed Wednesday in Florida court that the companies defrauded the government for years, in violation of the False Claims Act.

URS Federal Solutions, Inc. and its subcontractor, Yang Enterprises Inc., submitted more than a thousand claims, totaling $387,000, for undocumented and unreasonable early replacement of car tires over a six-year period, the 18-page complaint alleges.The companies were responsible for overseeing a General Services Administration fleet of approximately 400 vehicles for NASA at Kennedy Space Center.
