Chesapeake Deal Staves Off Bass Family Royalty Trial
Law360, Dallas (September 8, 2015, 1:06 PM EDT) -- A Chesapeake Energy Corp. unit reached a trial-morning settlement with the billionaire Bass family and other plaintiffs that claimed in a Texas federal case that the energy company shorted them on royalty proceeds from natural gas wells in the Barnett Shale, a lawyer for the plaintiffs confirmed.
