NJ Benicar Side-Effect Suits Combined In Atlantic County

Law360, Newark (September 9, 2015, 6:43 PM EDT) -- The New Jersey Supreme Court has formally centralized in Atlantic County court, dozens of state lawsuits blaming Daiichi Sankyo Co. Ltd.'s Benicar and other blood-pressure drugs for gastrointestinal problems, according to a notice posted Tuesday.

The high court's order, dated July 14, stipulates that all pending and future state court actions alleging personal injuries from taking olmesartan medoxomil medications will be designated as multicounty litigation for centralized case management purposes under Superior Court Judge Nelson C. Johnson.

The order was issued shortly after a comments period on the matter ended on June 26.
