Uber Can't Appeal Drivers' Class Cert., 9th Circ. Told

Law360, New York (September 28, 2015, 5:57 PM EDT) -- A freshly certified class of California drivers accusing Uber Technologies Inc. of misclassifying them as independent contractors told the Ninth Circuit on Friday the ride-hailing company prematurely appealed the certification and there are no novel questions to warrant the court’s intervention.

Following U.S. District Judge Edward M. Chen's yet-unfinalized Sept. 1 order, the parties are still engaged in class certification briefing, and the parameters of the class may still change, the drivers said in their opposition Friday.
