Leagues Urge 3rd Circ. Not To Rehear NJ Sports Betting Case

Law360, New York (September 30, 2015, 5:06 PM EDT) -- Four major professional sports leagues and the NCAA urged the Third Circuit on Tuesday not to rehear a case shooting down a New Jersey law that attempted to legalize sports gambling in the state, arguing that two prior decisions on the issue are not contradictory.

In their brief opposing New Jersey's bid for an en banc rehearing, the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the MLB, NFL, NHL and NBA said the state is trying to reopen an issue that has already been resolved.
