EMI Suit Continues Against MP3 Web Sites

Law360, New York (October 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to dismiss a copyright infringement lawsuit brought by 14 EMI Group labels against a company that operates two music-sharing Web sites but has dropped the founder of the company from the case.

In an opinion issued Monday, Judge William H. Pauley III of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York denied MP3tunes LLC's motion to dismiss the case for lack of personal jurisdiction and improper venue.
