Troubled Qwest Called Back Into Court

Law360 (June 23, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The already long list of lawsuits against Qwest Communications International Inc. grew Wednesday, as Merrill Lynch & Co. filed its own claims against the besieged communications company rather than accept a $400 million class action settlement to be divided among numerous parties.

In a complaint filed with the U.S. District Court in Manhattan, 36 Merrill Lynch investment funds said they suffered total losses of over $100 million as a result of Qwest’s and its accounting service Arthur Anderson’s fraudulent behavior.
