Pilgrim Seeks NY Approval For $1B Bakken Oil Pipeline

By Keith Goldberg (November 18, 2015, 5:58 PM EST) -- Pilgrim Pipeline Holdings LLC has formally asked New York state to approve a proposed $1 billion pipeline that would ship crude oil from North Dakota's Bakken Shale and refined petroleum products through New York and New Jersey, a project that environmentalists and New Jersey lawmakers have vowed to fight.

Pilgrim said Wednesday that it's filed a use and occupancy permit application with the New York State Thruway Authority, since it wants to locate nearly 80 percent of the New York portion of the 178-mile Pilgrim Pipeline within the Thruway's right of way.
