MetLife Counters Claims In Paycheck Deduction Spat

Law360, New York (October 22, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. has turned the tables on a purported class action from insurance agents over allegedly illegal paycheck deductions for business expenses, denying allegations made in the complaint and filing counterclaims of its own.

MetLife filed its answers and counterclaims on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, two weeks after the lead plaintiffs filed their second amended complaint against the insurance titan.
