Fight For Daily Fantasy Sports In NY Has Only Just Begun
Law360, New York (December 11, 2015, 11:23 PM EST) -- After a tumultuous day for the daily fantasy sports industry, DraftKings and FanDuel will be allowed to continue operating in New York for the time being after an appellate court froze an order to shutter the companies, but the rulings are still only the beginning of what could be a costly fight for the burgeoning industry.
On Friday morning, New York Supreme Court Judge Manuel J. Mendez granted the preliminary injunctions sought by New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman to immediately shutter DraftKings Inc. and FanDuel Inc. in the state.
