By Andrew McIntyre (December 21, 2015, 2:36 PM EST) -- Westfield Corp. said on Monday that it sold five malls located across the United States — including properties on both coasts as well as in Illinois — for $1.1 billion, a deal Debevoise & Plimpton LLP worked on as counsel to Westfield and Pircher Nichols & Meeks and Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP steered for a buyer joint venture.
For the Australian shopping center giant, the sales follow a similar size disposition earlier this year. Two of the properties in the latest sale are located in Illinois, and the deal also includes single properties in Connecticut, California and Washington.
