Colgate-Palmolive ERISA Suits Consolidated In NY

Law360 (October 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Manhattan district judge has consolidated three putative class actions brought by employees against Colgate-Palmolive Co. alleging the toothpaste maker and its cash-balance retirement plan miscalculated their pension benefits.

Judge Barbara S. Jones of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Monday granted the plaintiffs' motion for consolidation, saying the lawsuits involved identical questions of law and fact and that consolidation would avoid “unnecessary waste of judicial resources.”
