Apple Wants $180M More In Samsung IP Row

By Michael Macagnone (January 4, 2016, 11:55 PM EST) -- Apple wants a California federal judge to find that Samsung owes close to $180 million in additional damages for almost three years' worth of sales of smartphones that allegedly infringed Apple's patents.

As the case nears its third trial on damages, Apple Inc.'s Dec. 23 motion put a $178 million sticker price on sales of allegedly infringing phones dating from the jury verdict in 2012 through January 2015, with more than $1 million in prejudgment interest. The supplemental award would add to the existing $548 million award against Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. from the most recent jury trial.
