4 Ways LA Ballot Proposal Would Stymie Development

Law360, Minneapolis (February 1, 2016, 4:27 PM EST) -- A Los Angeles group is attempting to get a measure on November's ballot that would severely restrict zoning changes in the city, and attorneys say if it passes, the measure would cripple development across L.A. and exacerbate what is already a growing housing crisis.

The measure, spearheaded by Coalition to Preserve L.A., would not allow the city to amend zoning plans or general plans to allow for increased density that developers often require, and could also stall or halt projects that recently received such zoning changes from the city.
