Purdue Pharma Appeals Ruling That Invalidated OxyContin Patents

Law360 (January 12, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Purdue Pharma filed an appeal Monday of a court ruling that found its patents protecting the painkiller OxyContin were invalid because the company deliberately misled the U.S. Patent Office.

The closely held Connecticut drug maker filed its appeal in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, stating that it would ask the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to overturn the District Court's Jan. 5, 2004 ruling.
