9th Circ. 'Hurt Locker' Ruling Could Harm Athletes: Unions

Law360, New York (March 14, 2016, 1:19 PM EDT) -- The players' unions for the major professional sports leagues told the Ninth Circuit on Friday that a recent ruling in the publicity rights suit claiming the makers of the film “The Hurt Locker” misappropriated a soldier’s life story could hurt the ability of their members to protect the use of their likenesses.
