Zimmer Replaces 2nd Bellwether Suit Over Knee Implants
Law360, Chicago (March 28, 2016, 4:11 PM EDT) -- Zimmer Inc. has chosen a New York woman's case for its second bellwether trial in the multidistrict litigation involving the company's NexGen knee implants after its first-choice plaintiff announced plans to seek his suit's dismissal, the company said Friday.
Beverly Goldin's lawsuit against the medical device company will go forward in Illinois federal court in October in place of Anthony Reaves' case, Zimmer told U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer in a notice. Zimmer was allowed to choose the second bellwether case for trial after plaintiffs' counsel selected the first, which ended in a win for the company in November.
