GNC Agrees To Pay $9M To End Calif. Labor, Wage Class Suit
Law360, New York (April 11, 2016, 5:03 PM EDT) -- GNC and a class of employees urged a California federal court Friday to approve a $9 million settlement to end labor and wage law violation claims against the vitamin retailer, saying the deal secures worker payment and resolves the uncertainty of continuing litigation.
The 8,000-strong class of current and former General Nutrition Corp. store employees claiming they worked without pay and received incomplete wage statements said the maximum $9 million settlement amount, along with GNC’s agreement to pay up to $20,000 in costs related to administering the payment to class members, is set to end “all issues pending in the litigation.”...
