NL Not Liable For Lead Cleanup Costs: Court

Law360, New York (December 1, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- The city of Milwaukee, and not lead pigment maker NL Industries Inc., should foot a $52.6 million bill to clean the lead paint out of about 11,000 homes, a state appeals court has affirmed.

The state of Wisconsin's Court of Appeals on Tuesday handed down an opinion affirming a lower court's jury finding that NL did not intentionally cause a public nuisance and denying Milwaukee's request for a new trial.
