Belize Asks DC Circ. To Gut $32M Awards Over Airport Deal

Law360, Washington (April 19, 2016, 6:35 PM EDT) -- Belize blasted efforts by an airport contractor and holding company in the D.C. Circuit on Tuesday to collect roughly $32 million in arbitration awards over a canceled airport operating agreement and backdoor tax deal, telling the panel that both companies are using U.S. courts to attempt to evade Belizean taxes.
