Clearwire, Sprint Hit With Wireless Patent Suit

Law360, New York (December 3, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Adaptix Inc. has sued Sprint Nextel Corp. and Clearwire Corp. over six patents related to a national WiMAX technology network, a month after the two companies earned clearance for the $14.5 billion joint venture.

Adaptix filed the suit Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claiming Sprint and Clearwire's Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access network willfully infringes its technology patents.

The alleged infringement “will continue to damage Adaptix's business, causing irreparable harm,” the company claims in its complaint.
