Microsoft Wins Bid For New Judge In Eolas Spat

Law360 (August 1, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- After years of legal sniping with browser technology firm Eolas Technologies Inc., Microsoft Corp. will have a chance to renew its battle cry after a Federal Circuit ruling Monday that will allow the software giant to bring its long-simmering patent infringement case before a different judge.

Eolas has yet to collect on its record-breaking $561 million damages award, handed down in a stunning 2003 victory against Washington state-based Microsoft.
