Screen Actors Guild Loses Arbitration Award Appeal

Law360 (December 12, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- A federal judge has confirmed an arbitration award in favor of the bargaining unit for two major advertising industry trade associations in a legal feud over the procedure for resolving disputes about the amount advertisers pay into the Screen Actors Guild Inc.'s pension and health plans for the services of celebrities who appear in television commercials.
