Google Beats GeoTag Rehearing Bid In Ad Map Patent Row

Law360, Los Angeles (June 1, 2016, 7:15 PM EDT) -- Google Inc. on Wednesday beat GeoTag Inc.’s claim that the internet giant’s advertising platform infringes on the patent holding company’s geographic search patent when the Federal Circuit refused to reconsider its previous ruling in Google’s favor.

The appeals court didn’t elaborate on its decision not to rehear GeoTag’s claim as a panel or as a full court, saying in a short order simply that the requests were denied and that the court’s mandate would issue June 8, according to Wednesday’s filing.
