Tech Cos. Tell Justices $400M Apple-Samsung Ruling 'Flawed'

Law360, New York (June 13, 2016, 9:44 PM EDT) -- More than a dozen major tech companies, including Facebook and Google, have asked the U.S. Supreme Court to reverse a ruling that awarded $400 million to Apple for design patent infringements by Samsung, calling the Federal Circuit's decision "deeply flawed."

The companies said in a June 8 amicus brief that the appeals court's ruling that Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. must pay Apple Inc. its entire profits from smartphones found to infringe design patents on Apple's iPhone was disconnected from the reality of modern day technology.
